What does the “G” in the Green Bay Packers logo mean?!?

Based out of Green Bay, Wisconsin, the Packers are the second-oldest franchise in the NFL. They will be playing in Super Bowl XLV against the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday. So let's get to it...

What do u know about the Packer’s logo design?



Yes, it’s a green and yellow, and yes it’s a big “G”… but what does the “G” mean?? If it stood for Green Bay, I wouldn’t be bothering with writing this post.. so what does it mean?

The oval “G” was created in 1961 by the Packers equipment manager, George Braisher (no.. it doesn’t stand for George). And so, when the logo was adopted, it was determined that the “G” would stand for “Greatness”.

So there you have it. “Greatness”. Don’t worry, if you thought Green Bay, even the members ON the team didn’t know:
